Saturdays 8 miles have come and gone. Janet, Cheryl and I did them today at Lakeshore at 5:30 am. We started from Fannin Landing and went to Lakeshore park and back. I was so quick and the best part..... we have tonight to not have to go to be early and tomorrow to not have to get up early. I missed the group, but it sure is nice to have it behind me. Normal aches and pains, but nothing serious. I feel great right now. I am about to go run some errands, than pamper myself a little, haircut, etc. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Ann
p.s Thanks Cheryl and Janet

My family
Thought I would post some pics of my family since others have. I really enjoy seeing everyone else's family. They are on the bottom part of my blog page.
On another note....YUK.....
What is up with the way I feel. I feel like I am just beginning. No energy, my shins hurt, my feet hurt. My motivation is lacking.... Not much else to blog. I am doing my 10 miles on Friday so will miss seeing all of you on Saturday, so have a great run. Ann

16 miles
16 miles was a loooong way. I had a not so good week with my training, eating and drinking water was better. I got out there yesterday, nervous about the miles, it was a good run and also a bad run. Good in the sense that I made it and was not just wiped out and was not having MAJOR hurts. Bad because it was probably my most sluggish day. I did not have any energy and each step felt like I was just pushing myself.... I have never had that happen. Anyway, I am usually worried and trying to really improve on my time. Yesterday I figured this was supposed to be Long SLOW Distance, so I didn't beat myself up about it, I just took it slow. I did not do very many intervals, not much running. Janet went the whole way with me and we were content to do what we could. I have found that each week brings new challenges and obstacles. Hopefully by the week of Chicago, we will have experienced so many things that we will be ready for a GREAT run in Chicago... that is my hope anyway.
I WILL do good this week.... I have an extremely busy weekend next weekend, 2 wedding receptions Friday night, 2 weddings Sat and 1 engagement party on Sat. So I am going to get in my 10 miles on Friday morning at 5:30 at Lakeshore with Janet. If anyone else would like to join us, let me know. We are not very fast, or should I say we are pretty slow, but we will be there.
Lets keep it up, have a great week. Ann

8 Miles...oh Wait..9 Miles
All ready for my 7.5 or 8 miles today. I did not do good and thought I had done REALLY bad when I got back and saw my time. Luckily we had gone 9+ miles instead of 8. I had a terrible week as far as preparing for today. I only walk/ran Tues/Wed/THurs. 2 miles each day.... that is terrible. I had a big total of 1 (one) yes 1 glass of water... last night. I bought a big bag of mixed chocolates (hershey's kisses (my Fav), reese's and hershey's miniatures. I have just about completely finished the WHOLE bag. So hopefully this is my week to be terrible. I have been stretching so my groin would not hurt so bad.... evidentely not near enough. I have GOT to do some strength training for that. Hopefully this week will be better all around, eating, exercising and drinking water. That is a MUST considering we have 16 miles Sat (or so Mark says). Have a great week everyone. Ann

15 miles
Wow, 15 miles. We did it. I felt really good going into today, once again thought it was going to be a breakthrough in my time. It was not, but I finished 15 miles and am proud of it. I actually really enjoyed the rain. I was on the web last night looking up about tips for running in the rain....there were none. But there was an article a man had posted saying to just enjoy getting the chance to "play in the rain". Usually only kids get to play in the rain.... use it as a chance to play... so when the rain started pouring, I did just that, I enjoyed it, jumping, running through rain puddles, it was great. My body felt pretty good except my groin. Mark showed me some exercises to work on this week. I need to get that worked out. All in all, I am pretty happy. We are over half way now, like Mark says it is all between the ears now. I am so proud of everyone. All of you that get finished WAAAYYY before some of us others, give us the motivation to strive to do better. All of us at the back seem to keep encouraging others as we pass back and forth at our own paces. Tomorrow is 90 days... yikes, that seems like it is getting close.... how time flies when you are having fun!!!
Have a great week,
Ann
